John has over 22 years of leadership experience in financial services and business advisory activities providing strategic focus, corporate development, business alignment and financial oversight. He has served as head of the Corporate & Financial Institutions Group at a Canadian bank as well as VP Finance and Corporate Development, CFO for a bank subsidiary and interim President & CEO for a smaller Schedule 1 bank. He has developed lasting business activities, led industry-first transactions for clients and numerous shareholder value enhancement initiatives. John is a member of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and the Canadian Securities Commission.
In recent years, John has been working with private families and private equity funds in the assessment of new investments and to maximize the value of existing business investments through his roles in strategic planning, business development, leading change, M&A and ongoing portfolio management. John has served as interim CEO, CFO, strategic advisor and project leader in a number of performance improvement and transformation initiatives. He has overseen the redesign of business processes, building management teams, client acquisitions, outsourcing, business acquisitions, financings and has arranged highly profitable liquidity events for investors. In addition, John works with families and individuals in areas of strategic philanthropy and participates in several charitable organizations related to 3rd world development programs and financial counseling. John is an enthusiastic and innovative leader with strong project management capabilities and a results-orientation.
